I don't start work until you approve the price. The $35 diagnostic fee is charged at drop-off and applied toward your repair. If we can't agree on a price, you pay only the diagnostic fee and get your device back — no hard feelings. I'd rather be straight with you than lose your trust.
Most people end up in the Performance Boost tier — it handles the actual problem plus cleans everything up so it doesn't come back fast. If your machine is older or has been running rough for a long time, the Full System Refresh is usually worth it.
I recommend it, but I'll always ask before erasing or reinstalling anything. I won't touch your data without telling you first. The Full System Refresh and Ultimate Care packages include a data backup as part of the service.
